Seven things that cross your mind a lot... the way my mind works, things don't so much cross it as invite themselves in, settle down, and stay right up to the point of "it's lovely to see you, but I really need to get on with something."

1. Career stuff, particularly worrying that I've been in this job a year and don't have any money yet. But also about whether I will stay where I am long term, or move on, both in terms of institution and in terms of career path.
   
   
2. Day-to-day job stuff, such as planning teaching and reminding myself what needs doing.
   
   
3. My friends, often including imaginary conversations with them in my head. Or more like monologues, really, because I don't like to invent what someone else would say until they have a chance to speak for themselves.
   
   
4. Writing DW posts in my head; they're often brewing for weeks before they actually get committed to screen!
   
   
5. Lyrics of random songs from my collection. I don't really hear music in my head, but I do get semi-earwormed with lyrics.
   
   
6. Boring domestic stuff like planning what I will make for supper, reminding myself which chores need doing, etc.
   
   
7. Political issues, whether national ones or internet debate ones.
