Yes, those are really clear and important examples. There is gradual progress towards counting same sex couples as a family, and I hope the trend continues to full equality. But that still excludes couples and groups that are not romantic, and that's really unfair. Particularly when it comes to non-spouse carers, let alone siblings or platonic housemates. Bah.
