Um, I think we have a slight misunderstanding here...

Not at home. In a commune in the American Cambridge with a bunch of people I have never met in my life before. They are very cool people and have decided that I should have some time to myself rather than being overwhelmed by constant company, hence the quick update. But despite being in a foreign city with a bunch of strangers, I am indeed safe and sound.

It wasn't that organized a trip, my dear. I decided on a whim and an LJ comment that I would go to Cambridge, got on a bus and went there for a day. If I'd attempted my usual tactic of trying to plan my anxieties to death it would have been a very different experience. As it was I don't think I could have managed meeting up with your people, but thanks for the thought anyway.

They are indeed lovely people, and the visit made a wonderful finish to what has been a wonderful holiday. Your country has some cool things and many cool people in it. (And the time I spent in Canada was also great fun!)

Sorry I didn't manage to see you. As it happens I only saw this comment after I was already back in New York; I was only in Cambridge for 26 hours so it wasn't that practical to organize to see lots of people (apart from the people who were already living in the house where I was staying!)
