Before I left we were picking a couple of pounds of raspberries every day. I was in America for three and a half weeks, and when I got back the autumn fruiters were starting to come into season. So I was sent to engage them; I can tell you they didn't give up the fruit without a fair fight, and I have the scars (well, ok, scratches) to prove it. The gooseberries took the side of the raspberry canes and those things have vicious spines. Anyway, fresh raspberries are worth it.
I have a huge backlog of books I want to talk about, but here's the most recent thing I read: Guy Gavriel Kay's Tigana.

Raspberries are one of things I grow. Much of the good and although thorny a lot less so than many of my roses, which are older ones some thorn in thorn and a couple with toxic tendencies. Mainly I grow them (the raspberries) to have some to freeze for winter.

Did you post on the GGK? He is a favorite of mine.

Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
