Your Identity: Elenna in the online world. I'm 20, a third-year university student majoring in English and Psychology with a minor in Philosophy. I hail from California but am freezing to death in upstate New York and working as a law enforcement intern with the local police department. Yes, the cold makes the work difficult! I'm also currently panicking over graduate school applications and searching for a good program in psych and law or forensic psychology. I'm a writer, reader, editor, equestrienne, feminist, relative atheist, introvert, linguist, shooter, scholar, amateur photographer, and a slew of other things.
Passions: Books--I am a voracious reader and lack the time to read as much as I'd like. Music--it keeps me sane. Musicals--I have a huge weak spot for Broadway. Horses--I have two back home, and they're my kids; I cannot live without them. Writing--I write both fanfiction and original fiction and have two novels underway. Throw blankets--I'm cold all the time; shut up. Firearms--I picked up shooting sometime last year and love it. Tea--I drink ridiculous amounts of it. Coffee--ditto. Language--I speak English (obviously), passable French, am teaching myself Arabic, and have a functioning knowledge of several romance languages. I also adore many of the dead languages (Latin, Middle and Old English, Old Norse, etc.). A million other little things (see my profile if you're curious).
Dreamwidth Use: I normally post daily when I can, or at least several times a week. Right now, bogged down in work and uni, I'm on a bit of a semi-hiatus and am therefore less present than normal. I run several communities, volunteer for Dreamwidth (though less than I'd like), and talk about anything from uni to the medical drama that is my life to work to the rest of my [rather boring] life. Fandom is present, both in the form of linked fiction and discussion, but it is by no means all I discuss.)
I am always open to meeting new people and tend to be more verbose and outgoing online than in real life, as I express myself better in writing than verbally. Please, friend away--I'd love to expand my use of Dreamwidth, as most of my current f-list uses LJ as a primary site. :D
My journal is friends-locked, as I am a paranoid idiot and like the semblance of privacy it offers me. As such, I don't have a lot of public posts that aren't fandom-related--though I did an Apple-related PSA of sorts last year, if you're interested.
I do caution you, however, that if civilian gun ownership and/or law enforcement are not your thing, I am probably not your girl. Neither comprises the majority of my posts, but they are rather prominent, and while I always welcome differing opinions, I'm not looking to be flamed, either.
Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
