I already knew you were a more serious photographer than I am (not that that's hard!) And yeah, good cameras are physically large as well as being expensive. I would like to get a dSLR one day, but not just like that; I'm not the sort of person to casually drop a month's salary on a toy. Perhaps it will be my 40th birthday present to myself; that gives me ten years to save up, and for the technology to get even more amazingly awesome. Before that, I want to play with the good compact I have now, seeing just how much I can get out of it; hopefully I'll get to the point where I'm frustrated because the quality of the camera is letting me down. Right now it's my own ability as a photographer which is the limiting factor, I think.
