liv: Table laid with teapot, scones and accoutrements (yum)

There were several annoying things about this weekend, and a couple that were difficult, but I'm going to talk about the many excellent things.

I ended up making a semi-spontaneous visit to [personal profile] jack.

[personal profile] forestofglory has managed to overcome geography and is currently staying with [personal profile] jack, so I got to spend a bit of time with her! And she's coming to visit me here this week, so that's even better.

I watched the tail end of a rather tense Magic tournament chez [livejournal.com profile] alextfish and [livejournal.com profile] woodpijn. This also meant I got to meet their daughter, whom I hadn't seen since she was still ensconced inside [livejournal.com profile] woodpijn.

[personal profile] forestofglory took me along to Poohsoc where friendly people fed me teeeeeea.

Then she took us out to dinner at Sala Thong, a Cambridge institution I'd never managed to get to before this weekend. Through a combination of being sensible and sharing, we succeeded in trying lots of tasty things without ordering or eating too much food.

Sunday we had time for a walk along the river to The Plough, where we had a very tasty lunch, before [personal profile] forestofglory headed to a wedding.

Meanwhile [personal profile] jack and I went to a really excellent party chez [livejournal.com profile] illusive_shelle. I didn't really know anyone, even the hostess, but I had a brilliant time anyway. There was bbq, and all kinds of good side-dishes to go with it, and some very, very, very tasty cocktails, and good conversation and just the right amount of silliness. I'm particularly glad I finally got to meet [livejournal.com profile] illusive_shelle; she made a tremendously good impression on me. Not least because she appreciates teeeeea, or because she made a fairly simple breakfast for us on Monday morning which tasted like the food of the gods.

Those do indeed sound like great things :) yay for friends and good times.

Soundbite

Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
