I agree with both you and the Language Log commenters that ptc24 mentions: the Economist has fairly superficial coverage of stuff that doesn't look convincing to people who are already experts. But it's still giving me points of view that I wouldn't otherwise have considered, and indeed it's discussing topics that aren't in my normal sphere. Knowing that there's something going on at all lets me cross-reference lots of different sources; relying on links from DW, FB and Twitter I might well not know that there's anything newsworthy going on in South America in the first place. Well, I might pick up something from your timeline, but I don't really read Spanish.
Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
