Some people think that cancer gets a disproportionate amount of research money and attention at the expense of other diseases. That's not entirely untrue, I think. But the efficient giving people think that all medical research conducted in the western world is a horrible immoral waste of money that should be better spent saving lots of lives in humanitarian disasters, and cancer is just the worst culprit.
