That makes sense. I wonder what the gender balance is in that kind of job. I imagine it appeals to a lot of women, in that it's piecework with flexible hours, and primarily requires interpersonal skills. But at the same time, it involves walking about on your own through all kinds of neighbourhoods, and inviting yourself into strangers' homes, which a fair number of women wouldn't be willing to do for money.
