I think the discussion could likely run to talking about elective sterilization, it's the sort of thing that seems generally relevant though it's not explicitly in the notes. Bringing that up could be a good way to gently prod people about the assumptions they're making about what an expected life progression is.
I would definitely like to bring up talking about "pregnant people" rather than "pregnant women", but this cohort have not had any teaching about trans* and GQ issues at all, which means that some of them at least have probably never thought about it before, and if I bring it up it risks swamping the entire discussion. I've had that problem before, in a discussion more of the biological side, I mentioned as an aside something like "the majority of people who are going to be consulting about breastfeeding are women" and ended up spending half an hour of class time calming down the hysterics over the possibility that some men may in fact engage in breastfeeding. OTOH never mentioning any non-normative gender issues because it's too complicated is itself oppressive, so I am genuinely not sure which way to go on this one.
Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
