Thank you, I'm really glad you enjoyed my ramblings. I tried not to use too much jargon, but since I'm doing these Three Weeks posts just by writing down whatever happens to be in my head without doing any research, I didn't put in links to explain the specialist concepts. If there's anything where I was unclear or assumed background knowledge, please do feel free to ask.
NB: If you Google for Jewish stuff a lot of the top links will be from a weird American Christian cult called Jews for Jesus, who like to put up web pages which pretend to be informative about Judaism and are actually trying to persuade people to join their cult. They quite often don't put their name on these pages either. A lot of the other top links will be from a slightly less weird and not quite so culty Jewish group called Chabad, who are not actively evil and deceitful but are very very fringey within the Jewish world, but have a disproportionately strong web presence. I don't say this because I doubt your ability to sift your Google hits critically, but because JFJ and Chabad are both large, rich organizations who put serious resource into manipulating Google rankings and if you know that this is going on you may have a better chance of spotting them.
Have I pointed you to Judaism 101? It's American and somewhat Orthodox-leaning, though Rich does try very hard to be fair towards other denominations. But it's very good at explaining religious and cultural concepts, helpful if you see a reference to something you don't recognize when you're reading other stuff (whether that's Wikipedia or personal blog posts like this, by annoying people who don't bother to explain the background of what they're talking about).
Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
