(Obviously?) I don't think you think I'm a dupe of big pharma - all else aside, you know too much about my history of considering working for them ;) - and yes, mechanism is fascinating! But... hmm, I wonder if this is like my activism? I tend to be much more interested in How Can I Help This Specific Person Right Now than in taking the long view when it comes to activism. Hmm. (And obviously both are important! And in intellectual terms, I am super-interested in mechanism, but I do find I end up with a pretty stark divide between How Science Works as a thing very divorced from How I Can Help People...)
I agree that mental vs physical isn't the same thing as invisible vs visible, but I do think the latter's generally more helpful :-)
YES. Comorbidities are a thing! People just need to be NOT SHIT about them.
