Agree with this lots - I like being single and living alone. My emotional connections to [some] people are strong, but they're long distance so getting practical support from others would be hard for me without relying on work colleagues. I am pretty self reliant and have various contingency plans for how I'd arrange support for myself if I ended up needing it.
