At the Mountains of Madness is a HP Lovecraft novella, which is one of his strongest pieces in terms of otherworldly atmosphere, and which Guillermo del Toro has been trying to get funding to film for some time. I'm not using synecdoche, if I understand synecdoche correctly; I just literally really intensely wish there existed a film of At the Mountains of Madness made by the people who made Black Narcissus (an excellent 1947 psychological drama about tension in a convent half-way up the Himalayas based on a Rumer Godden novel which is extraordinarily visually impressive in a stark inhuman grandeur sort of way) and think del Toro's vision of the Lovecraft would be a thing worth having.
Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
