It was the most amazing culinary experience! I recommend basically all the places on the list except for Le Commensal. I should note that we were spending round about $30 per head on most of these meals, some a little less and one or two slightly more. Which made the cost a little eye-watering compared to my usual travel habits, but equally plenty of people spend as much as we spent in the entire two weeks on a single meal as a one-off treat, if they go to top-end places with tasting menus or that sort of thing. And most of these places you could certainly eat well for less if you weren't in the mode of, never mind the extravagance, we're on holiday. At some point when I'm procrastinating I might go through and put in links to all the eatery websites, but most of them you can find by just searching on the names.
The Biodome is a really excellent place for sending family while you're at the conference. (Though I'm not sure how much you want to miss out yourself!) We didn't go there with small people but I got the impression it's quite well geared to making everything appealing for kids, gently guiding them to the stuff that's actually interesting rather than distracting them from the informative bits with pointless games and multimedia.
Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
