My brother's always been quite good at not caring if he gets into trouble for raising things like that. Like when we were teenagers and the community was having a debate about same-sex marriage, and Screwy spoke up and reminded all the community leaders that they shouldn't assume nobody present in the room was gay. I think they kind of assumed he was, cos he had long hair and sometimes cross-dressed. I would never have said anything like that, not in front of adults at a big public debate, even though I had an inkling by that time that I was bi. But getting other people into trouble is obviously not his aim.
Emailing the student LGBTsoc people with my concerns might well be a good idea, thank you. I think TDOR is probably the least problematic of what they're advertising; there's also a thing billed only as "Talk by Alex"; if it's Alex the trans law lecturer, then she's awesome and I probably want to go and listen. But Alex is a fairly common name, so it could be a random, probably not trans, gay student babbling on about something which might be just as bad as watching RHPS for the sake of "trans awareness".
Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
