It was tempting, but not being in London any more plus faff meant that I didn't book early and it's turned out to be a good thing, because it'd be difficult to make it.
I have only been to one SF con, which was a media one in Hammersmith, on the 30th anniversary of Dr Who (Panopticon?) and which I'd been asked to help out with the tech side by someone on cix.
What made it think about Worldcon was looking at it from a BiCon organiser perspective. For a start, what on (insert planet of choice) is the obsession in SF fandom with panels? Is it that the audience can't be trusted to have a discussion without four selected people sitting behind a table?
The timetables of the ones I've seen were 'interesting' too, with lots of overlapping sessions. Erm...?
Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
