The thing is, I think the system is so bad that even basically decent, honest people end up messing the other side of the transaction around, because there's so much that's just ridiculously out of your control. Bad solicitors and estate agents certainly don't help, though!

I didn't know the much more sensible Scottish system had been reformed to be as bad as ours, that's a shame.
