Thank you, that's a really high compliment! I think a lot of the things I do for you don't count as "nice" in the way I perceive to be expected of women. Like, I have no idea when your birthday is, I don't compliment your clothes or appearance, I don't do a lot of work to smooth your life practically while hiding from you the fact that it is work. If you ask for a specific thing I will do it if I can, but it's much more likely to be a practical thing like reading a draft of your paper, or troubleshooting about how to deal with problems rather than, well, validating your emotions or building up your self-esteem.
And even then, the "nice" things I do for you and other friends come relatively low in my priorities, after doing things that make me happy or promote my career and goals. So it's not that I think I'm a horrible person who never does any kind or unselfish things! It's more like, I don't really go around anticipating what might make other people's lives better, I wait for them to ask me and I reserve the right to say no if what they want doesn't fit into my life.
Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
