I think society would work a lot better if more people were like you. Yes, you need to live with someone but it doesn't by a very long shot have to be romantic. There are so many people who think that if you live with anyone who isn't a romantic partner, certainly once you're past your early 20s, you're a failure. This is a problem. And similarly, you have set yourself up with a loosely-organised collection of around 10 people; that's a lot better than having one person you're completely dependent on, such that you might struggle to keep yourself functional if that person cools towards you or just has stuff going on meaning they can't be as intensely involved.
