Yes, I am absolutely convinced that FB is really hard to use, but people are used to it. Like pooing sitting down, not well adapted to the body at all but most people in our culture find it "easier" than squatting cos that's what we've always done. What FB does have is low barriers to interaction, which isn't the same as "easy to use", but it does make a difference to how much time people spend there.

I probably ought to sign up for Ello so that I'm established there and can get a decent username in case it takes off. But I'm so pessimistic about it that even that ten minutes of effort feels not justified!
