Yes, privacy is a good point. That's the big reason why a lot of people choose to cover themselves, it's not something that's imposed by religion or society or other people, it's just that people own their bodies and have the right to decide how much they want to make themselves available to be looked at. And yes, that might well lead a particular person to choose to be more covered up than the local norm, and I don't have a problem with that. But I wouldn't choose to cover myself throat to ankles for the sake of being modest, because I don't think that's a particularly modest thing to do.
There are definitely additional complications with teachers and students and appropriate professional boundaries. I probably don't want my students to see my cleavage or too much of my legs, but I also feel that they might not want to see me in that way, and I do have a degree of power over them which I have to be careful not to abuse.
