Thanks for a nice succinct summary here. I believe in risk compensation, sure, but I suspect that the magnitude of the effects can get a bit exaggerated. Even so, that's in addition to slightly more complex indirect reasons why more cycle helmet coverage leads to more accidents, so that's a lot of reasoning pointing in the same direction, namely that I don't really need to wear a cycle helmet and in fact probably shouldn't.
