I like to think I'm less ignorant than your average European of Christian heritage about the middle ages and our (Christian, English) persecution of the Jews; but for a Very Long Time I had 'blood libel' tied in my head to 'Jews killed Jesus' which, lies, but different lies and mostly what I have read is more about arguments about money lending and deporting people as if none of that could ever have been violent. This was not a thing ever taught to me in school, although the Shoah was in excrutiating detail (for 14 year olds).
