A busy week
May. 15th, 2004 07:54 pmWow, so this week I had
lethargic_man to visit, and went to a job interview in Dublin, and took part in a TV programme (although I didn't get to speak during the programme, my Dad informs me that I was in shot quite a lot. This is mainly because I was sitting next to FMZ, who wrote a quite brilliant question about Iraq which got selected! And very impressive she was too.)
I also reworked my icon and wrote a review of The Shipping News. But didn't make much progress on my thesis!

Date: 2004-05-15 02:24 pm (UTC)No, that was the annoying (acting exactly like a Union hack type of annoying) debating society president who was sitting just in front of me. I did join the general cheering at that because it was a nice debating point, though Salmond annoyed me in general by answering every single question with 'the Iraq war is illegal and the Labour government sucks'. I agree with the sentiment, but most of the time it wasn't remotely on topic.
My main contribution was to start the audience hissing at Hartley-Brewer for saying about Maxine Carr 'She helped a paedophile murderer, she can rot in jail forever for all I care, even the lynch mob's too good for her'. Dad said he could tell that was me started it, but maybe he was just being nice.
Question Time
Date: 2004-05-16 03:58 am (UTC)How much of your fifteen minutes of fame do you think that leaves you with? ;^b
Re: Question Time
Oh, gosh! That's really rather more fame than I was expecting, given I've set foot in Newcastle all of three times. Still, it's very Jewish community, that you've been hearing that people I really don't know recognized me on TV...

Date: 2004-05-17 12:06 pm (UTC)In the opposite direction, you once sent us a link to a site called hilchos xmas and it took me several seconds not to read it as hitchos xmas, (something to do with hitchhiking? HHG?). This has a lot to do with the fact that I pronounce the word as hilkhót rather than hílchos, so my brain wasn't registering it at all.
