I accidentally a New Year's resolution to send 40 postcards in 2020. I have an app, Touchnote, that sends physical postcards to anywhere in the world with a postal service, and I was trying to buy credits and my card got refused and I tried again, but actually the payment went through. I could try arguing with Touchnote over double charging me, or I could just send the postcards anyway. That's just about one per week, and would make a nice little challenge and a good way of keeping in touch.

If you would like a postcard, please LMK your physical address. I promise not to use it for any purposes, nefarious or otherwise, apart from sending you a postcard at some point during 2020. I'm entirely happy to send postcards to internet randoms, if you don't mind telling your address to an internet random.

Oh that’s interesting. I am a postcrossing person. If you don’t know it, you sign up with an address, complete a profile and then tick it want to send a postcard’. It then gives you one person’s address. You say you will send it, then your address is one of the next ones to pop up for some other random person :)

I did it a lot a couple of years ago but didn’t send any last year. I’m doing it again this year cos I love post!

Using a poll instead of screened comments for this is brilliant. I’ll have to remember it next time I’m soliciting addessss.

OOI, does the app let you add text to the image at all?

[I have a vague need to print a climbing photo with some text at the bottom of date & place so it can go up at Harlow's wall of their climbers climbing, and haven't found the necessary faff-tuits yet]

This is a fabulous idea, and thank you for being willing to send cards to complete randoms!

I think I first saw your journal via [personal profile] atreic and kept coming back because you often have interesting, thought-provoking things to say, so hello!

I'm another LJ exile, and I still feel like I ought to ask if it's okay to subscribe. Despite the fact that you're posting in public presumably means you don't mind internet randoms reading...

Thank you for the lovely tree postcard!

Soundbite

Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
