I am glad it met your world movie needs! I think that year I saw a bunch of things at the international film festival with endings that, shall we say, did not meet my Western expectations of what a movie ending should be; it seems to be a running theme. (For a really weird ending, try the Russian film The Daughter--which I suppose has the same name as this film but is a very different movie.)
The only Nigerian film I've seen is a short documentary about Boko Haram, which was fine but not really within your criteria. If you want a film from Niger (which...what is the adjectival form for something from Niger? Presumably not Nigerian, as that would be confusing), K reported moderately enjoying Rain the Color of Blue with a Little Red in It, a remake of Prince's Purple Rain (the local language apparently does not have a color word for purple).
Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
