Yeah, in many ways I have more time for direct anti-poverty activism than class activism. I think there is a real need to support people who are actually seriously poor but assumed to be "privileged" because they present as middle class. But perhaps someone more lefty than me might assume, well, you would say that wouldn't you, because you have class loyalty to other middle class people!
I do also acknowledge that there are some people who are doing ok financially, but still excluded from institutions and power and generally badly treated, because of class prejudice, and that's also a cause I care about. I just don't think racism and protectionist nationalism and homophobia are in any way helpful to advancing working class causes.
