So I was in the shower, doing the kinds of things one does in showers, when someone rang the doorbell. I considered jumping out of the shower and wrapping a towel round myself to answer the door, but decided it probably wasn't either justified or decent. A few minutes later, the water was turned off; I guess the workmen must have been ringing my doorbell to warn me they were planning to do this.

As a result, I have wet, shampoo-y hair and I can't do anything about it. When they've turned the water off in the past it's been for half an hour at a time. I more or less dried my body and put on a dressing gown that I don't really mind getting a bit damp, but I'm not really dry because my hair is dripping all over me. I can't even make myself a cup of tea to make up for the annoyance.

Meep.

Today is the 32nd day, making four complete weeks and 4 days of the Omer.

That's extremely obnoxious, they might have given you more than five minutes' notice that they were planning to turn the water off. Poor you.

Normally they give at least 48h warning, don't they?

Hee, that's annoying indeed. You don't have the water heater thingie that would still produce water after it's cut off? Or is it designed differently there (We have one for every bathroom here, usually); I think I heard of different designs sometimes (centralized ...).

I think you didn't understand me. Where I live, we have a small heater in every bathroom; this heater holds enough water, so if the water of the whole house goes off, you can still use this (except if you use it alone, and it is turned on, it would be really hot). I guess you don't have that, not hot enough where you live. :P

Err, not hot enough? What was I thinking! You don't use the heater when it's hot. You just probably use some better method. :P
