I have also been awake for most of the past 24 hours so I'm a bit zoned. But I am safely chez darcydodo who was lovely and met me at the airport and fed me tea (and laughed at me, but that's also good). Geography is defeated again!

Yay indeed. That journey took far too long, and I got lost at the eastern end of the E train and then I was in such a panic that I forgot to move my books from my checked baggage so I had nothing to read. But being here is very good.

I 'spect I probably got laughed at for being dopey, that's usually the way.

Oh gosh, I forgot that end of the E train. They haven't finished building, have they, and all the signs are invisible. I hardly ever go that way, I usually go in from Manhattan, so I didn't think to recommend extra time. It must have been awful. Darcy should know: anyone might get lost there. And then it's no surprise you'd forget to fiddle with your baggage.

Thanks for leaving the sex book, btw. (Gosh, that looks dodgy, doesn't it?)

Friday is ferpect! Ferry Building for sorbet and coffee, Castro District for early dinner (vegetarian?) and walking, then off to temple (services start at 8)? Yay? Nay?

This sounds a most excellent plan, thanks for fixing that. I need to check details about getting home after the service (do you happen to know, or have a link that would tell me, what sort of time the service is likely to finish?), but basically I'm on for this. I'm ever so much looking forward to seeing you!

What time do you consider 'early' dinner? 5.30? 6? As for vegetarian, I'm happy to eat in any place that has vegetarian options, it doesn't have to be an entirely veggie restaurant. Do you have a specific meeting place in the Ferry Building?

I think the service won't last more than 90 minutes but I'll check with Rabbi Alexander tomorrow morning. It is ver easy to get back to the East Bay; are you driving or taking public transportation?

Yes, about 5:30 or 6 is good. (yes?) That would allow time for a gentle walk after before heading over (or under) the hills.

I'm not a vegetarian but I didn't (don't) know how kosher you like your restaurants, so I thought Nirvana Thai Noodle House would do. They have wonderful veggie stuffs but also serve meat dishes. If you're quite seriously kosher, then I'll make a reservation for a place in the Sunset that is Glatt Kosher. Chinese vegetarian, I think.

Here you can see the front of the Ferry Building; I can meet you right there if you'd like. At mid-afternoon (~2? 2:30?) it won't be too crowded.

Also, if there's time and inclination, the Whole Foods market on 4th St., a couple of blocks from the museums, has a wonderful bakery and a decent tea and chocolate selection. ;)

Ack! I'm gonna have to be presentable! Eep! What if you hate me? Argh! I'm a socially inept buffoon! :D
