Not new to LJ, and not really new to me either, but I've only just connected up the real people with their LJs: [livejournal.com profile] lavendersparkle and [livejournal.com profile] tzotze. *waves madly*

[livejournal.com profile] lavendersparkle is someone I met through the Cambridge Jewish community last year and know just about well enough to want to get to know her better. And I was introducing [livejournal.com profile] hatam_soferet to her when I was visiting Cambridge a couple of weeks ago and it turned out that Lavendersparkle had heard of Hatam_Soferet via LJ and [livejournal.com profile] neonchameleon. (I mentioned this as an edit to my post about that trip, but then I realized that's a silly way to make an announcement as not many people will see it.)

[livejournal.com profile] tzotze, on the other hand, I was friends with years ago and had lost touch with her. So I'm very excited that she's now here on LJ. Since her journal is friends only and partly anonymized I won't explain how I know her, but she is using her real (and rather unusual) name as her LJ handle so if you know her you'll be able to work out that you know her, IYSWIM. Which of course is how I worked out who she was when I was browsing friends of friends.

It is so nice when these things happen! I have similar experiences with LJ, it amazes me everytime.

I got my pretty dragon from the icon journal of [livejournal.com profile] _palimpsest_ who is making A LOT of these kind of icons. They are all beautiful. I'm hoping she will make some icons from Celtic manuscripts, that would be extremely cool :)

*waves back madly*

It's so interesting that everyone seems to have a blog now! And that people that I haven't managed to stay in touch with are popping up all over the cyber-place. Of course they've all been here much longer than I have and I've only just discovered them. Wheeeee! Very cool!

Yup, that's why I have a blog too. I'm terrible at doing the regular email thing. (Although I did a bit of a cut-and-paste of my blog into an email to my mother-in-law and sister-in-law and my dearest hubby thought that was cheating! Surely it isn't cheating - I still wrote it! They don't read my blog anyway and the content of a purposefully written email would be much the same....hmmmmm).

I haven't found any other bloggers yet, but that's probably because I haven't been on here very long.

Ooops

Ooops! I didn't mean to be anonymous in the last post, I meant to be me!

Oh I meant that I had discovered all these people I knew from school afterwards (Singapore etc) that were all writing blogs too! So I guess they aren't mutual acquaintances. But if you want to read Singaporean blogs (and they are mostly writing about food!) I'll pass you contacts (:

Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
