I think you are supposed to take it with a pinch of salt.

I think it's a fantastic idea for a blog, I just think the current authour is probably the wrong one to be doing it and that the idea's been poorly carried off. But it's not a bad idea in and of itself.

exactly. it's tasteless and looks like it was done by a 14 year old, but if it had been done seriously and intelligently, perhaps by someone who has studied the text in depth and has something new to say about it, then i'd probably be fascinated.

Maybe, it's my sick sense of humour, but I thought it was quite funny. In poor taste, but funny. Obviously her supposed anti-gay rant shows her ignorance towards Midrash (if she is Jewish), but in an odd, cyber-punk way, this is Midrash in its own right.

Why did you find it so offensive? Maybe I am missing something?

We should write competing "Lot's Daughter" blogs with our own understanding of the implications of the text.

Or... we should not. Like we really should not.

I just went mad for a second.

Spinoza, what pisses you off about it?

Seriously... I seem to be missing something that others are getting upset about?

Is it the homophobia thing?

Oh, I'm not pissed off or anything. I just think it's badly written. Didn't go nearly as far or as deep or as interesting as it could have... and yeah, I have issues with the blanket statement that the residents of Sodom were homosexuals... I think you know my stance on that.

*shrug* I really just think I could have done it better.

... from which you can infer that the author is not only Jewish but also American? ;-)

Sorry.

(It's just that American popular humour often seems to revolve around anal sex).

If worked out better, it could be a cool/original idea.

How are you, by the way?

Soundbite

Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
