Is that the same Jan Morris who, pre-op, was James Morris?

According to Wikipedia, yes. The author bio in the actual book is obviously silly (Jan Morris, that matchless prose stylist who is the finest travel writer of our time...), so I had the impression it was part of the book's reality rather than our actual reality. But it seems that the bibliography is actually accurate.

An excellent writer in my view. The three volume history of the British Empire is excellent and I really enjoyed When was Wales?.
