Bad news

Just had a phonecall from ploni_bat_ploni, she's in hospital with heart trouble. Probably minor but they need to do loads of tests to make sure. She mainly complains of boredom rather than anything worse.

She asked me to post here; our friends don't entirely overlap but it's better than nothing. She'd been feeling poorly for a while but cleverly managed to get herself admitted while she was in her Home Country, so at least her fiancé and friends can visit her and she speaks the language. (Apparently she has internet access, but the system is too old to cope with LJ or her email account, so effectively she's out of touch.)

(Me, I'm ok but uncommunicative for various reasons. I will update once I manage to follow through on the intention.)

Part of the reasons for being uncommunicative is that I'm horribly busy. Except when I'm not, but in those cases I'm finding myself too crashy to post on LJ. I'd love to talk to you.

If you can fit talking round the fact that I'm going to get home at around 9 pm this evening, and probably later still tomorrow evening, and I need to be at work early on Wednesday, and will finish late in any case, and Thursday I have to get up for minyan (= leave house before 7 am), and Thursday evening I have a committee meeting and will get home late again, then talking to you would be great. Lessee, what does that leave: this evening between 9 and 11, maybe Wednesday evening between say 8:30 and 10, or Friday afternoon. Which in your time zone would be 3-5 pm today, or maybe 2:30-4 Wednesday afternoon (but I'm not sure of that), or 8-11 am Friday.

And I'm replying to this at work, which I shouldn't, but that's how short of time I am.

I was texted early on sunday morning , I thought it was my alarm going off, but... it was plonit in the hospital instead! Apart from boredom, she complained about the food as well, the hospital doesn`t do kashrut and seems to have a rather idiosyncratic definition of vegetarian as well. (Gelatine is apparently considered vegetarian by said hospital, ugh)

Oh dear! That sounds serious. I am sorry that she needs to stay in hospital, getting bored and getting horrible food. I know how it is. I was several times as a child in hospital but it was never very serious.
I hope she recovers soon and is able to leave the hospital.
