Can't sleep, zeitgeist will eat me

I finally succumbed to Facebook. I am going to be bullish about only "networking" with people who actually know me IRL, I'm afraid; I already have LJ for having fascinating discussions with strangers. But anyway, if you do know my real name, and you're on Facebook, you're welcome to connect to me over there.

It looks as if I can't do anything much until I get my stupid Oxford alumni email address working, which at this rate isn't going to happen until after the summer. I'm annoyed, because that step should have been easy.

Other than that, it's been a long week. I'm getting into this microblogging thing though.

Not that I think it would eat you, but it's a book of which I am most fond in its won peculiar way to which I would be interested in your reaction, and tbh I'm on the edge of losing track of what all I have either sent you or you have read on my recommendation completely.

As I am an Oxford benightus, rather than an aulumnus, I shall never have an Oxford Alumni Email address. This is probably a good thing.

Actually, I think you can get an email address. They say that anyone can be a a member of the alumni society, it's sufficient to have matriculated: Anyone who has matriculated as a member of the University or who has been engaged in academic work in the University is considered to be a member of the Oxford University Society.

Of course, you do have to take active steps to get the email address, and I agree, it would probably be more of a burden to you than an advantage. But if you ever did want it, you are in fact entitled.
