I made it back to Sweden without incident. And when I got here I discovered that the scary tax situation has been resolved, so I no longer have financial worries hanging over me. Also, home smells homey and feels comforting, though I hate the fact that it is so far away from all the cool people I've been hanging out with in the last couple of weeks.

Two annoying things: I changed my left over money back into Swedish kronor, and tried to use an automatic machine to pay them into my bank account. However, the machine decided to throw an error right at the end, after it had swallowed the money! I am pretty sure that the bank will be able to sort this out, otherwise I'll raise merry hell until they do. But still annoying. And I can't log in to LJ using Firefox on my own computer, so I am reduced to the inconvenience of IE, blech. Again, I really hope it's sortable.

I ought to get to sleep rather than trying to make up for weeks and weeks offline, I think!

Don't say things like that, I was already missing everybody! What you are supposed to do is make plans to come to Stockholm. And make sure that you have lots of fun with all your friends who live in more sensible places.

It was lovely lovely lovely to see you, Bat. We need to have more extended conversations; is there a technological solution? Phones or IM or VoIP or something?

Phones *and* IM *and* VoIP! I have not done IM much because I dont tend to be home in front of the computer that much, and I cant really do it at work. I intend to get into IM more. Definitely phones.

My October travel will be finalised as soon as I have the job starting date; I have managed to convince boss that Paris trip is unnecessary and feel much better for having cancelled it, which means I could add Stockholm to the Leiden trip. Should work out possible travel methodologies between the two.

Didn't get to talk to you much the previous week either because we got caught up in separate games. This is the problem with trying to be efficient by seeing large groups of friends at once, sometimes I miss people even if we are both in the same space. But there's a pretty good chance I will be in the area again at some point.

You were definitely one of the people I most missed when I was socializing in person instead of online; I guess I picked a reasonable time to go as it overlapped with the Farthing party when you were also busy with physical people. Good luck with the catching up.

To tell the truth I'm really only taking a deep breath before plunging into mad Jewish community commitments for the next three weeks, so properly in touch is going to take a while for me too.
