I'm just sorting through the very small number of photos I actually got round to taking when we were exploring the far north of Sweden. They are mostly not very good, which is partly because I haven't quite picked up the knack of photographing endless landscapes, and partly because Kiruna itself honestly isn't that photogenic. Anyway, here's a small selection of snaps of Kiruna (the last few are of the cultural museums at Jukkasjärvi).

I did manage to get one good shot of a reindeer (in a fairly small enclosure in the Sami cultural museum), though:

landscape photography is much, much harder than most people think.

man, i recognize some of those snaps from kiruna, and it's been more than 20 years since i was there. cool; thanks for the memories!

Oh good, I'm glad you got something out of my not very good quality photos! Interesting comment about landscapes; I feel like I was better at it with my old film camera, somehow, but perhaps I'm fooling myself. With the digital, I get the feeling that everything just blurs into a mass of green and blue with no distinct features.

At some point, when I have spare money (ha!) I am intending to get a more modern digital camera; the one I currently have is badly out of date and was a mistaken purchase in the first place, it has never suited me. Do you know of any resources for explaining how to get better landscape shots?
