Countdown meme: day 9

Day 9 is

It's spring! It's literally spring, I'm really enjoying the warmer weather and the light, which is often closer to being sunny than it has been and is around for longer even when it's not. And seeing all the little green things poking through the ground and the buds just waiting to open, and today I even saw crocuses.

And I'm feeling optimistic about my career. I have a possibility of getting a project set up and a PhD student to work on it; it requires raising £20,000 in the next few weeks, which is going to be difficult, but that's way, way better than no possibility at all. And it's interesting and it may be directly useful for better cancer treatments, and it involves collaborating with some really cool colleagues.
Aren't you glad I didn't choose any soppy images? Cos the other big thing that's going on in my life right now is planning both the wedding and more seriously, our future together. As an antidote to all that nonsense, have some anti-valentines.
Two images that describe your life right now. I find this tough, since I really don't have a visual mind! I poked around in Flickr and came up with the following two:

Date: 2011-02-15 10:21 am (UTC)Pshaw; it's the middle of February. You know it's as likely as not to start snowing again, or frost over and kill all the plants which started growing again too soon. The weather always alternates between cold spells and warmer spells, even in the middle of winter.
I do appreciate the longer daylight, though. And I am enjoying the warmer weather... just with the caveat, "while it lasts".
