Congratulations, Elemy!
Mar. 27th, 2011 08:22 pmI've had a lot of niggling annoyances this weekend, but I don't want to whine about them. It mostly boils down to geography being evil, and the fact that I'm sleep-deprived enough to blow small setbacks out of proportion. Also, the setbacks completely failed to prevent my weekend from being wonderful!
elemy got married. Given that she was at school with me and part of my main social group at university, her wedding was a giant reunion of lots of people I like from my past. It was so lovely to see people, and dance and eat good food and have studenty philosophical arguments. And in general it was exactly how a wedding should be, including absolutely the best wedding dress I've ever seen.
Also I was able to do something to help out a member of my community who is struggling to cope with the loss of his wife of sixty years. The actual execution of this was somewhat annoying and a major contributor to my sleep deprivation, but I'm still glad I was able to do it.
I managed to talk to
rysmiel who has an amazing knack for evoking the emotional response of being held even if there's loads of geography in the way. But I miss them, and
darcydodo who really should have been at the wedding. The joyful occasion of getting to see lots of people I'm fond of has made me inclined to pine for spending extended time with them.
I have a difficult and somewhat stressful week coming up, beginning with a very early morning tomorrow. So I'll do the sensible thing and deal with the tiredness by getting to bed, instead of whining on the internet about things I probably won't care about in the morning. I'll still miss my friends, though.
