liv: cup of tea with text from HHGttG (teeeeea)

OK, I'm an idiot, I signed up for a four-day text study event on the assumption that it was a residential thing. And in fact it's yet another of those events that are really only aimed at Londoners, preferably those who live in the NW London enclave. So can anyone offer me crash space for any of Wednesday evening (21st July) through Saturday evening (24th July)? I should emphasise I'm not expecting to stay for that whole time, but just one or two evenings would give me a chance to socialize with people I like, and also make the event less prohibitively expensive. If I can do two nights in a hostel instead of four, that's a big help. The actual location is Hampstead Hampstead Garden Suburb, but anywhere in London or surroundings would be a start.

I've got [livejournal.com profile] aviva_m staying with me that weekend, but I can offer you the Wednesday and/or Thursday evenings, provided you don't mind me spending at least one of the evenings, possibly both, preparing for the Shabbos lunch I'm throwing that week. (I'd offer to invite you, only I suspect you'll be at MoHoLo.)

That's really kind of you to offer, and I'd be very glad to stay with you on Wednesday and Thursday. I am happy to help you with preparing lunch for Saturday!

Well, I'm not sure you'd be able to help—my kitchen's not big enough for two. But it might be useful to send you out to buy any ingredients I've forgotten.

Shabbat is going to be a little awkward; the Open Talmud people aren't officially running a shabbat morning service, so I might well end up coming to Assif with you. But it kind of depends where I end up staying on Friday night, and you're right that I can't join you for lunch, because the programme starts up again at 2 pm on Saturday afternoon.

Hmm... <considers distances> <checks your link above> Oh, it's not in Hampstead; it's in Hampstead Garden Suburb. That's only a twenty-minute walk from Assif (and about quarter of an hour from my place).

I clicked on "details", and it said "Friends Meeting House, Hampstead Garden Suburb". So I fed that into Google and came up with this page, which has a link to a map.

If you're still stuck, I'm not certain yet but I think we'll be around for much of that (possibly at the odd evening event here and there, I think there's a party during that time) so you would, as ever, be very welcome to our crash space. If the timings aren't wholly compatible., we can probably dig out spare keys so you're free to come and go. I think you know the score re: our house by now, so hopefully it's a known quantity ;-)
