Radio recommendations?
Jan. 31st, 2004 09:16 pmI listen to streaming radio a lot while I'm working, and I'm having various boring technical problems with some of the stations I'm familiar with. So I'm thinking to branch out a bit. Does anyone have any recommendations for me?
I like more or less any kind of music (and part of the point of asking this very general question is to branch out into new stuff!). I'm looking for a station that's mostly music, but ideally with a little bit of DJing / news as well. All-music 'jukebox' type stations will do, if they don't repeat the same songs too often. I don't mind adverts but I get annoyed by self-consciously 'silly' DJs à la Radio 1.
Ideally I'd prefer sites that I can stream with basic programs (Windows Media player, reasonable versions of IE or Mozilla, etc), rather than anything that's going to require downloading software that I might or might not trust. In particular, I'm not letting Realplayer anywhere near my computer where it migh hurt important stuff like my thesis. And I'd rather not have to give masses and masses of personal information to be able to use the site. Email address is fine; much more than that would put me off.
Oh, and, I meant to say, I've been Paid Account fairyed again. I'm assuming it's just a random strike by the Support Fairy, but if it's actually one of you guys being nice anonymously, I'm most grateful!

Date: 2004-02-07 09:32 am (UTC)As for FO, you're really missing almost nothing. I post maybe once a month FO, almost always to protect someone else's privacy rather than my own. So when I do post FO it's generally quite tightly locked to a filter group of people I know well IRL.
