Mainly for the attention of Persegirls: My mother read in the newspaper last week that Marion Street died on 6 March after a long illness. I don't know any more than that, but I thought I would pass the information on. Because there might be people who knew her who don't know she's died, and there might also be people reading this who have more information than I do.

The funeral is Wednesday in Stapleford somewhere; if anyone wants to go, I suggest emailing me and I'll put you in touch with my parents who have the details.

I wish for her whatever she would have wanted to be wished after her death, and for her family and friends, whatever comfort there can be.

According to my mother who was a little late in comparison to yours at giving me the news, she died of leukaemia (sp?).

Thanks for the info, Shreena. Leukaemia (yup, that is how you spell it) was my most likely guess for a previously healthy 24-year-old to die of.

Strange image of our two ghoulish mothers poring over the death announcements for names they recognize... Still, I'd rather know these things than not, I guess.
