Day 4 of the meme is
So I'm afraid I have to resort to I normally hate this kind of thing, political propaganda based on attacking a particular individual. But I am really, really angry with our current Prime Minister, Theresa May, and it just happens there's been a single released by people who are also angry with her: Liar Liar by Captain SKA:
I tend to lean Conservative on some issues, but May is not meaningfully a Conservative politician; she's a corrupt, incompetent racist. I'm not exactly delighted about the prospect of voting against her either. On Thursday I'll have to choose between Labour and the Lib Dems. The former have some quite nice ideas in their manifesto, but have spent the past two years in opposition under Corbyn's leadership voting with the corrupt, incompetent, racist government, or not bothering to turn up to vote against them. The latter also have some principles I generally agree with and are pro-Europe, but they've put me off by spending the entire election campaign lying about how to vote tactically against the Tories.
Labour won't cooperate with anyone, even internally, who doesn't sufficiently adore their Great Leader. And Corbyn and his ideologically pure core of supporters just don't have the numbers to effectively oppose the disaster of a Tory government. The Lib Dems, on the other hand, will cooperate with pretty much anyone who (pretends to) offer them the faintest possibility of power, and even if they break with their 30 year history and actually get some principles, there are too few of them to form an effective opposition.
So basically I think we're screwed, and I'll vote because attempting to vote for the least worst option is what you do. But I can't tell you how much I wish I could forget Theresa May ever existed, forget that the referendum catapulted her into power among all its other terrible consequences.
A song that reminds you of someone you'd rather forget about. I can only really think of two people I've encountered in my personal life I'd rather forget, the ringleader of the kids who bullied me when I was 5 or 6, and the teacher who made my life hell when I was rising 9 (nowadays Year 4). Neither of them has a song I particularly associate with them.

Date: 2017-06-06 07:13 pm (UTC)Encouraging people to vote tactically is fine, lying that a tactical vote for LD is the best way to stop the Tories in constituencies where this is patently untrue is not endearing. And I wish I'd seen even a little bit of positive campaigning beyond just "Labour can't win here" / "Labour doesn't hate the Tories properly".
