Originally via [livejournal.com profile] lisekit but with a fairly wide area of infection. I like the concept, though I suspect I'm going to do very badly.

Name a CD you own that no-one else on your friends list does.
Hm. I have a whole bunch of random bargain-bin classical compilations, but they're only unusual combinations of obvious things. Let's try Wake up by The Boo Radleys (album; there's probably a fair chance that British, chart-aware people my age have the single).

Name a book you own that no-one else on your friends list does.
I'm going to go for GB Edwards: The Book of Ebenezer Le Page, if only because I'm very much hoping to be proved wrong here.

Name a movie you own that no-one else on your friends list does.
I definitely fail on this one, since I own precisely zero movies. And I surely can't be the only person of my LJ circle in this position. I've seen a film that I reckon nobody else has, though: Tilsammans ('Together'). Any takers?

Name a place that you have visited that no-one else on your friends list has.
This is the one where everybody seems to trip up. My first guess would be random tiny little villages in the depths of Pembrokeshire, but I discovered [livejournal.com profile] lethargic_man has actually been to most of them, which quite likely means [livejournal.com profile] papersky has also. So let's try Queenscliff, Australia; there's only one Aussie on my flist (I think) and Queenscliff is not exactly a major city.

I bet I'm going to lose on every single one of those. It's probably just a question of how quickly I get the counterexemplary comments.

You so lose on Queenscliff!

Sneaky, but I spent a year in Melbourne!

I didn't know you'd been to Australia. When was that?

I must admit that I've seen Tilsammans. Twice I think, at the cinema with the "commune" I used to live in, and on tv a couple of months ago. In Norway everything from Sweden is cool :)
But I own one more film (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0156794/) than you!

Yeah, I've also seen Tilsammans. And Fucking Amal and Lilja-4Ever, both by the same director, Lukas Moodyson. Neither are are as sweet as Tilsammans (the latter film is positively harrowing) but they show the same kind of acute social observation and excellent performances, especially from the young actors he works with.

I've probably been to a fair few of the tiny little villages too. ;)

Soundbite

Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
