I was just glancing over my friends page before settling down to thesis work, when I saw something that made me fall over with surprised happiness. I've received many awards in my life, mainly for being ridiculously and boringly good at exams. Though my slightly wackier achievements include being voted 'Most likely person to become a nun' from a group of teenagers on a science summer school...
I don't think I've ever won an award that pleased me this much, though.
lyssiae has decided to nominate me for the title of "LoveliestHumanToWalkTheEarthSinceWhoeverInventedBooks". I don't think there's really anything I can say to that, so I'll just be sitting here and glowing quietly.

I'm not used to being this much liked. I mean, I don't expect to be painfully unpopular, but I tend to assume that most people find me unobjectionable and hopefully fairly fun company. But not such enthusiasm. I've either become a lot nicer than I think I am in the last few years, or I've drifted into circles where I fit in a lot better. I suspect a combination of both actually, along with the fact that for many years a lot of the people who do think highly of me tended to be the undemonstrative sort.
