This piece of [livejournal.com profile] casby's is rather gorgeous. Just so you don't follow the link unwarned, it's Shakespeare pastiche, and involves (implied) Dubya / Cherie Blair slash...

Cherie? I assumed it was Tony in a particularly camp mood.

Well, if one's talking about it as a genre, one would generally just say 'het.' But I agree that doesn't work too well in this situation, and admittedly I often say "slash" when I'm talking about het, and then get accordingly scolded by [livejournal.com profile] girlwithjournal. So, umm, I have no idea. On the other hand, if [livejournal.com profile] ixwin is right, then slash is actually a perfectly acceptable term. ;)

I'm somewhat of the opinion that people who insist on the narrow definition of "slash" should be able to immediately produce a word for the wider genre if they want anyone to pay attention.

I'm happy not to insist, I just thought I'd point out [livejournal.com profile] livredor's contravention of standard usage.

Miscellaneous. Eclectic. Random. Perhaps markedly literate, or at least suffering from the compulsion to read any text that presents itself, including cereal boxes.
